Mycotoxin bioaccumulation impairs absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients, an effect that may be further enhanced by certain binders. Additionally, some mycotoxins down-regulate vitamin D receptors in the intestines and kidneys. Vitamin D deficiency symptoms such as fatigue, immune dysregulation, hormone imbalances, and mood effects are amplified by mold, because it induces many of the same symptoms. Vitamin D also plays a role in particle-induced lung injury during mold fragment exposure.

Alight’s Liposomal D+K was formulated to maximize absorption and bypass the actions of mold. Alight’s innovative liposomal form is chemically unique to Vitamins D and K, usually requiring smaller doses to reach the desired effect. Vitamin K is important whenever supplementing vitamin D to ensure that any increased calcium absorption gets to the right places – the teeth and bones – and not deposit in the wrong places. This is especially important for those with high oxalates after mold exposure.
